# Delete a workspace variable

Soft-delete a workspace variable.

`DELETE /api/workspace-variable`

Soft-deletes the workspace variable. Projects that imported it lose access on the next deployment.

## Parameters

| `variableId` | query | string | yes | ID of the workspace variable. |

## Errors

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid `variableId`. |
| 401 | Missing or invalid Basic auth credentials, or the service account lacks the required role. |
