# Delete a package version

Source: https://www.jawsdeploy.net/rest-api/package-store-delete | Section: Package Store

Remove one version of a package from the workspace feed.

`DELETE /api/packagestore/package`

Deletes one version of a package from the workspace's built-in package store. Other versions of the same package are kept.

Releases that already reference the deleted version will fail to deploy it, so check that the version is no longer needed first.

The service account needs the package delete role for the workspace, or full control of it. Packages in external feeds (e.g. NuGet) are not affected by this endpoint.

## Parameters

| Name | In | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `workspaceId` | query | string | yes | ID of the workspace whose package store holds the package. |
| `packageName` | query | string | yes | Package ID as stored, e.g. `Acme.Web`. Matched exactly, including letter case. |
| `version` | query | string | yes | Version to delete, e.g. `1.2.3` or `1.2.3-rc1`. Must match in full, including any pre-release tag and build metadata. |

## Errors

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid `workspaceId`, missing `packageName`, a `version` that is not a valid version, or no package with that name and version in this workspace. |
| 401 | Missing or invalid Basic auth credentials, or the service account lacks permission to delete packages from this workspace. |

Example request:

```
DELETE /api/packagestore/package?workspaceId=ws_1&packageName=Acme.Web&version=1.2.3
```

Example response:
